About Me

With 15 years of experience in the mentaI health field, I have worked extensively with a wide variety of clients, from those who are dealing with current life stressors to others who may be struggling with chronic mental health issues.  Because of the range of my experience, I will be able to tailor my approach to fit your specific needs.  Though I enjoy working with people with all types of presenting issues, I specialize in helping those who are looking to do deeper, more insight oriented work, as well as people who are exploring issues of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.  I also enjoy working with mental health providers who are seeking their own therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What style of therapy do you use?

Because of the range of my experience, I am able to tailor my style to your specific needs.  In general, my personal preference is to draw from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and interpersonal styles most frequently.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes.  I try to provide people with services at a rate they can afford.  I will work with you to determine a fee that feels comfortable for both of us.

How long does each therapy session take?

Your first therapy session will take one hour, and each subsequent session will be 50 minutes.

Do you take insurance?

Yes and no.  I currently am in the process of getting paneled with Aetna, Optum, and Husky and hope to be taking these insurances within the next month.  If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company.
